Insulation

Today I started insulating the floor of the cabin. I’m using foam panels, because fiberglass bats seem like they’d rot and become a home for animals.

Update: I’m all done with the floor insulation. This took a lot longer than I thought it would, but now I won’t ever have to do that again. When I started out, I didn’t have the right tools, and cutting 2 inch thick pieces of foam with a dull kitchen knife doesn’t work too well. Anyways, I borrowed my roommate’s saw and got the hang of it eventually. The only thing that’s really unfortunate about all of this is that I got a lot of liquid spray foam in my beard and hair. I already gave myself one haircut earlier this week because I got the same stuff in my hair; but now I think I’m going to have to completely shave my head, because I got a lot of it in there today.

Actually, I should qualify this and say that I’m not completely done. Tomorrow, I’m going to staple a layer of thick plastic to the bottom.

And in gardening news, things continue to sprout. Very exciting.
